Bob Saget

Live in Singapore, 2019
Singapore Indoor Stadium

This next song is a cowboy song that I wrote a few years ago. I think I played it live once, ever. It's that good. [Laughs] But it's a favorite song of a couple friends of mine. My friend Bob Saget, it's his favorite song. So if you want to send a video to Bob Saget, please "at" Bob Saget. And then my tour manager Ken, it's his favorite song, he said.

I wrote this when I was having trouble with my voice, and I just wanted to get back on the road. I put myself in the mindset of being a sheriff. Just wanted to get back out there. This is a song called "Badge and Gun." It's from the Paradise Valley record.

My brother Bob was a force of nature; a big tall love monster who would hug me and rest his head on my shoulder. His love for those around him was always accounted for. He was deep and wide and vast, and he would’ve probably made a joke about me saying ‘deep and wide.’ The man had range. I’ve met many people in my life, but when Bob crossed my path, I just held onto him, and I wasn’t letting go. I knew he was the realest thing. I would like you to know that the man you hope was as awesome as you think was way beyond what you can ever imagine. He was impossibly kind. And generous. And loving. And I have more to say so please let me do like one more of these, okay? It’s just the way it’s gonna be.
