Been messing around with the less-is-more approach lately – thinking of bringing out a very simple amp rig this year. I've been confronting my dependence on reverb by removing it all together, which at first is a total bummer. I'm here to tell you that if you stay with it for a while, you can get to a point in your playing where you start improving some facets of your style that reverb has been standing in front of. It's naked as can be, and you can get a perfect impression of your playing and how to bring it to the next level. Not for the faint of ego, however. You'll realize there's a LOT that you can get better at.
Here's what I've been playing at home, a Dumble Overdrive Special 100w head on a Dumble 12" enclosure with EV speaker. Chimey.
And for kicks, here's a super rare Overdrive Special rack unit!!! No tubes, but all the circuitry that makes an ODS the machine it is in a 1u rack space.
